Aid for Ukrainian women and children

Natalie Rokita started her own Ukraine Aid Donation Drive when her cousin from Poland contacted her about having close ties to friends in Ukraine who were in need of help. Within one week after posting about her donation drive on social media, Natalie collected over 1208 lbs of donations ranging from medical supplies, clothes and food, to baby formula and diapers. AEC Parcel Service our logistics partner picked the boxes directly from Natalie’s doorstep and assisted her with shipping them by air to Poland from where they were further delivered to a church in Mukachevo in the Zakarpatska Oblast in Ukraine. The aid has reached dozens of women and children in the local parish.

Natalie says: “It was a great success with having the donations arrive safely. And the real reward seeing gratitude on recipients’ faces and knowing that, although so far away, there was still a possibility to help in even the smallest way possible.”

About the war refugees:

It is estimated that 6.3 million people have fled Ukraine since the beginning of the war on February 24, 2022. Most of these people are the elderly, women and children. Poland has provided shelter to almost half of the refugees – 2.9 million Ukranians have arrived and stayed in Poland. Another 7.7 million people have been displaced within the country, moving from the most dangerous parts of the country to safer places.
